Friday, January 15, 2010 - What is Open Source?

2:00 PM at Te Amo Lucy's

Are you curious about Linux?

At the  January meeting of the Mazatlan Linux Users Group, we will be discussing several topics of interest for new and prospective Linux users:
  • What is Open Source, really?
  • If it's free, it can't be any good, can it?
  • What are the key differences between Linux and Windows?
  • What kind of software is available for Linux?

Anyone is welcome to join us, regardless of your computer experience.  We will be answering questions during and after the discussion.  There will also be some laptops with Linux available for you to try out.

The meeting will be this Friday, January 15 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  We meet at Te Amo Lucy's restaurant near the Plaza Machado.  The weather has been so nice, we have been meeting by the pool.  Although the restaurant is closed during the meeting, Tony makes drinks available for us.  Or come early and have a fabulous lunch before the meeting.

Te Amo Lucy's is located at at Constitucion 622 between Plaza Machado and Benito Juarez. It's a pink building on the south side of the street.

Hope to see you there!
